Chill Session!

Well, yesterday was our first “chill session” and I have to say it was awesome. It was our first time doing something like this, and we have been so busy we didn’t have a ton of time to prepare for it. We were a bit worried that we might not be able to entertain a bunch of photographers for 10 hours, but that was a silly thing to worry about. Put photographers in a room together and they could talk for years about photography! Ah, we’re a wacky bunch.

Anyway we had 6 awesome “students” come over to our place to chill. It sounds like a small number, but we tried to keep it that way. I’m sure there were still questions that didn’t get asked because there just is never enough time! Big thanks to Venita, Terence, Dylan, Carly, Melanie and Jennifer for coming over and being part of a super fun day!

The general flow to the day was simple. Everyone met up at noon, we chatted about whatever popped into our heads for 4 hours. We also ate insane amounts of Jelly Bellys….insane amounts.

Then came the part I’m sure most people were really looking forward to: the “live shoot”! We saddled up and made for the UofA (our fav place). That’s where we met our models-extraordinaire. Die hard rob&lauren fans will recognize them from our website: none other than the famous Amy & Matt! They actually modelled for my very first couples session EVER. And they are some of the best people to work with, not to mention some of my bestest friends!

When we mosey-ed up to them we found out that Matt has only just realised that it would be the two of them modeling for 8 cameras! He was under the impression that they were just modeling for me and Rob. Um, nope! But he was an absolute champ, and as you can see from the forthcoming pictures, they did an insanely amazing job for all that pressure! From what I’ve seen so far, the “students” rocked the boat, and got some crazy good shots. Rob and I spent most of the time explaining, setting up the shots, watching, and just chatting, but we managed to sneak a few shots ourselves.

Here I am demonstrating a photographer’s yoga pose….naw, I actually have no idea what the heck I was doing! But it sure looks funny :) (P.S. You’ll have to excuse my hair. It was just NOT working with me that day!)

A wide-eye view of the mayhem that was going on. Amy and Matt on the right hand side, and the paparazzi on the left. You can just make out Rob sitting on the ground to the left!

(warning: If you’ve never seen Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, you won’t understand what I’m talking about at all. Just ignore it and keep going!)

“Now you’re a lemur! Burrow! Burrow!”

“Look, look. I’m not even shooting you!” (I seriously just point my camera up and keep taking pictures…and then I edited this one in Photoshop….I don’t even know why)
